Blade '72 Telecaster Thinline - Active pickups!
|
(ebay item #1502395479, posted 1/14/02, SOLD 1/15/02 )
This
is a beautiful relatively new '72 telecaster thinline repro guitar with a
very nice finish an good action.
This guitar features:
- Serial Number: 125858
- Active pickups by Gary Levinson Electronics (requires 9v battery).
- Stunning prismatic transparent blue finish, which seems to shift from
deep sea blue/green to blue to ultramarine blue/purple under the light.
- Very nice Pearloid pickguard
- Gary Levinson pickups, electronics and gold tuners
- 22-frets, 6-string
- Great styling with smooth f-hole and cutaway
- Graphite nut
- 3-way pickup selector switch
- 3-way tone effect switch (small black switch between the volume and
tone control). Middle is clean, low is a Rhythm-like boost, and high is a
mellow boost.
- Tone control has dual positions (push-in, push-out). Out position
sounds normal, but In position adds presence to the sound.
- Three adjustment potentiometers on the back of the guitar in the
electronics (I never adjusted them, but they are probably tone and/or
gain).
The guitar itself is very clean on the outside and inside, with the usual
minor scuffs in the clear coat, but no scratches or chips. I bought this
guitar new (still had the protective plastic on the pickguard) about a
year and a half ago, and just didn't play it much, since I liked the feel
of my SG better. The neck pickup still has the white plastic protector on
it, so I have never even seen what that pickup looks like! I liked the
look of the white cover, so I left it on. Ultimately, I am selling it
because I'm trying to raise money for a Charlie Hunter 8-string from novaxguitars.com.
I estimate that I have played it for less than 30 hours total. I always
kept it in the hard case when it was not in use, and kept it in good tune
and well intonated. The strings on right now are virtually new, but i
will include a new pack of D'Addario EXL110's (10ga.) with the guitar. I
will include the hard case for an extra $50.
An audio clip sample of the guitar played clean is available:
WurlitzerAndGuitar.mp3 (~3.5MB), although it
definetely doesn't fully demonstrate the abilities of the guitar.
