has submitted a second installment to his Warcraft
novel, 'The Bitter Fruit.' Chapter
two continues to detail the war that the trolls wage against
their hated elven enemies. While there's nothing special, it's
a good read for a Warcraft fanatic:

Diablo II Custom - {mAc}Chaos

Silacoid has submitted a new custom
for Diablo II to Infocentor.
This one is basically an enhancement of the all rares patch,
so the monsters now drop both Rares
and Uniques in normal difficulty
and exceptional items on high difficulties. Thrown weapons are
also always of superior quality. It's good for some refreshing
fun in single player. Again we not that customs do note work
and are not meant to be used in Multiplayer:

It's in D2M format, and hence will require the Mod

Network Closes - {mAc}Chaos

Many of you responded to our announcement that Camelot
Systems is gone, treating it with either disbelief or
horror, demanding to know why they are dead. Below are some answers,
thanks to Paul D. Sanderson of Gamefan
Network:
I saw your post on Camelot going down,
and the comment on GameFan Network as well. Actually, as part
of the GFN network, I can shed some light on this. I have to
correct myself, when I said I am part of the GFN, as I will no
longer be a part of the GameFan Network, effective Midnight Tuesday.
In fact, no one will be part of the network, as GameFan has informed
every single affiliate that they will be shutting down the servers,
and deleting all the network sites. This not only affects my
website, GameSurge, but every website on the GFN, including Vintage
Gaming, Voodoo extreme, Starcraft Org, Tech Base, Starcraft infinity
and other large sites.
As you may have realised, Gamefan Network was huge, and their
demise will fore many sites that we've come to known to go down,
including Antioch Chronicles, the Org Network. It'll be sad to
see them go.

Gamestar recently released new game footage for the Diablo
II Expansion. In MPEG format, it displays the two new
character classed rampaging around Act
IV, with their skills and new items in action. If you've
god a good connection, it's worth a download.

Systems Deleted - {mAc}Chaos

I've received word from KramerBoy
that Camelot Systems has been 'yanked'
by their hosts, the Gamefan Network. Indeed, none of their popular
downloads such as Stardraft have
worked in the past 48 hours. So if you are having trouble getting
the latest customization tools for Starcraft,
you aren't the only one. We'll try our best to establish mirrors
for the missing programs. There goes the last living member of
the Org Network

Slated for Maintenance - {mAc}Chaos

Today Blizzard announced that they
will be performing some routine maintenance on the US
East Realm. The closure is expected to begin on Monday, October 2, at 7:00 a.m Pacific Time,
and is expected to last no more than four hours. No data loss
is expected. Here is the official post-

maintenance Monday, October 2 at 7:00 AM PST (GMT -08:00). We
expect this maintenance to take approximately four hours.

With the current season ending soon DavidN
from Blizzard has made a forum post
in the Ladder Discussion Forum which states there will be some
new rules that are going to be enforced next season.
LADDER ABUSES It is considered an abuse
of the ladder system to: Play more than 2 illegitimate games
against any person within 4 days. Examples would be playing a
5 minute game then surrender, one player not building anything,
repeatedly surrendering when there is no need, etc.
· Winning / Losing more than 3 legitimate games to the
same person within two weeks. This allows you to have a "best
two out of three" match against someone. Any more than this,
and it will be considered abuse.
· Intentionally disconnecting from a game for the purpose
of avoiding a loss.
Blizzard may, at our sole discretion, reset the record of a Battle.net
account of any player suspected of abusing or attempting to abuse
the ladder system. If you are found abusing the ladder system
3 times, your account will be revoked.
Looks like Blizzard might finally
begin a effort in making a serious crackdown to the hackers and
cheaters on Battle.net, next season will only tell.

 Fansite Chat Delayed - {mAc}Chaos

There was around 20 of us attending the War3 Fansite Chat today,
all eagerly waiting for new Warcraft 3
information that haven't been around for a long time. Unfortunately
the channels were less than helpful, and decided to split as
they often did. Due to these server splits, Blizzard
has decided to delay the chat till next week.
