A Small Tour of the Engineering Building

OH! NO! Don't get worried...the walls are really NOT falling in. The hallways in the main block of College of engineering, Andhra University. That's my friend Nandy.

In campus roundup today, we have not much news as far as physical appearance of AU goes. All the engineering buildings look about the same except that most of them have been recently painted/white washed. There is a new building next to the SBI office. I did not investigate its reason for existence. The Nair baddi and its branch office are in action. The entrances to the AU near the registrar's office and the entrance near the teachers quarters side have been widened and huge block of black stones are in the centre with inscriptions on them welcoming you to AU.

Remember those benches? In front of the main block of College of Engineering, Andhra University.

Hmm...where's the water? Nandy poses for me in the fluid mechanics lab in the civil engineering labs at AU.

This time there were a lot of students on campus because some of them did not have vacation and had exams. Some were hanging around for the Janma Bhoomi event (if you don't know what THAT is, please please update yourself on a hilarious piece of AP government action).

Teachers wise - Dr. Ramamurthy, DKM, the old man with bald head and paralyzed hand (can't remember his name for the life of me---aaah..I did now..L. B. K. Shastri), and (something or other) Prasad (he of the low voice who taught us microprocessors) all have retired. Ratnam still has some time to go. He did not recognize me and therefore spoke so sweetly to me, I fell down in shock. Someone tells me he is depressed because all his children are in good old US of A. and he feels lonely. Dr. Parvathisam, as you know quit. So we have Drs. Sitaramam, Bapi Raju, Ugram, OOO..what's his name..tall thin man with balding head (Ranganatha Rao), Ramchandran, Purnachandra Rao, Goverdhana Rao, Lings, our tour guide (finally got his PhD, reported to have said.."emi un dandi? Evvaro chesaru..naa peru report paina untundi", the boyish power systems champion Ananda Rao (???)..btw, his The LopStop is still around while his Maruti is also under covers, are all around. I may have forgotten some people because I didn't see them on campus.

Yes! The classrooms have that ghostly appearance. Inside AU.
