Sands of Time - From Hello to Goodbye
This is my millineum project. Kind of one last thing before the century wraps up. The story begins when I started packing for my trip to India and I came across the old photo albums tucked away in
a corner of my bedroom. Many pictures were old and yellowing and
falling apart. I thought I ought to do something to save them. Modern
technology to the rescue - I took a few precious pictures to the local
Kinko's and scanned them using a high resolution scanner. Here are the results - these pictures are some of my favourites.
The pictures are chronological in order - from first year of college (1988) to the last and final year (1992). Because some of the pictures are very large, I've used thumbnail images. Click on the thumbnail to see a big picture. I havn't written down any names - I hope you don't have to be reminded who all these people are... BTW, why are hardly any people smiling in any of the pictures? I really wonder about that!
Year 1 - 1988-89

I remember Bala taking this picture of us outside the Electronics and Communication Engineering building on the EEE day. I think there were a few snacks and maybe some prizes awarded. Us girls were getting to know each other - saying "Hello".
Year 2 - 1989-90

I don't remember who took this picture but this was the first time the whole class went on a trip - to Bhimili. There was a lot of food - I remember and a funny bus conductor on the way back. My glasses got lost in the waves and Narendra rescued them. Raaj Kumar refused to lend his hankie because he was the only one who didn't get into the water. Maybe some of you remember more. Anyway - this is how we looked 11 years ago. WOW!!. who hasn't changed?

Just the girls - this picture gave me the inspiration for the title.
Year 3 - 1990-91

This picture was taken near the waterfalls close to Nagarjunasagar. Photographer unknown.
Why is everyone so serious?

In Bangalore - the Central Power Research Institute - I think. Check out Sudhakar's "classic" pose.

In Bangalore - still at the Central Power Research Institute. Walking along.....

In Bangalore - Ringing in the new year - I think Ramesh's birthday and Rekha's were combined
in for more celebration

In Mysore - Srirangapatnam temple
Year 4 - 1991-92

Bala's picture again - the girls in Araku train station.

In the railway guesthouse.

Whose "hand"iwork is this? A rather classic picture I think!! - the party for all the teachers at Dolphin Hotel.

All the teachers say good-bye - to the guys in this picture.

Same day - just the ladies...

Vani - off to Americah.....Yep..goodbye!!
